CULTURED COCKTAILS BRINGS BOOZE TO THE BENEDUM

Every drink has a story and every story is best paired with a drink.”

This is the thought behind Cultured Cocktails, a new event from The Pittsburgh Cocktail Trust celebrating Pittsburgh’s “Cocktail Renaissance”. On Saturday, April 28, The Benedum Center will host some of the city’s best bartenders and showcase their skills alongside nationally-acclaimed mixologist Christopher Cardone — and if you’re anything like us, you’re already imagining the shaken, stirred and garnished possibilities.

Set against the stunning, dramatic backdrop of one of Pittsburgh’s most beautiful theaters, Cultured Cocktails gives attendees the chance to sip libations they might not otherwise get to try in a seriously special atmosphere. Your cocktail samples will be served with small bites that showcase the best of the best in the Pittsburgh restaurant scene, and we love the idea of making a whole meal out of only these snackable plates and sippable cocktails.

There will be nearly 20 participating restaurants, including a few of our favorites like BRGR, The Commoner, Maggie’s Farm Rum, or, the Whale, Pizzaiolo Primo, and The Warren. For a truly VIP experience, bump up your ticket bracket to enjoy early entry, a private lounge featuring a sherry bar, exclusive live performances and a VIP dessert bar from the likes of the Butterwood Bake Consortium and Prohibition Pastries.

This event is replacing The Chocolate Bar, which featured area restaurants showcasing their own spins on chocolate-based desserts and dishes. While that sounds sweet (pun totally intended), we can’t help but think that the cocktail equivalent would be a whole lot more fun.

General admission to Cultured Cocktails is $45, while VIP tickets are $95 or $85 for Trust members (tickets can be found here).  Additionally, all levels of ticket purchases come with an Introductory Partners Membership to the Trust with exclusive pricing for hundreds of event throughout the year.  If lady luck is on your side, you could be the winner of two tickets from Urbanist! To enter, simply tag a friend you’d like to take to the event in this post or on our Instagram/Facebook post.  Winner will be picked 4/25 at noon.
