THE MOST ELEGANT PICNIC IN TOWN: THE CULTURAL TRUST’S PROMENADE IN THE PAVILION
Who says that picnics have to end once summer comes to a close?
Not the Cultural Trust — at their Promenade in the Pavilion event, guests will enjoy a picnic dinner in their own private hideaway on The Pennsylvanian’s elegant plaza. On Saturday, November 10, enjoy a bit of European-style picnic dining inside one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic buildings at this incredible, can’t-miss event.
Promenade in the Pavilion marks the close of the Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts, but it also makes a great way to ring in the winter season with one last picnic (even if it is indoors). Start the night by slipping into your best velvet jacket, satin cocktail dress or other festive fall attire. Once you stroll in through the iconic grand portico of The Pennsylvanian, your night of elegance can really begin: the grand hall will be totally transformed to the perfect English garden setting, complete with fountains and lush greens, lighting from the team at LUXE and even climate-control for the perfect autumn picnic.
If you purchase VIP tickets, you’ll immediately be met with your own personalized picnic basket filled with some of Pittsburgh’s best shareable accoutrements. Take your gourmet basket to your own reserved seating area and pop open your bottle of wine to kick off the evening an hour earlier than your fellow guests. But don’t get too comfortable — the night is intended to be a “strolling dinner”, so make sure to mingle. Stations throughout the venue will serve the best picnic food you’ve ever had, including dishes like filet sliders, tempura fried chicken and grilled peaches with prosciutto and fontinella, just to name a few. You also won’t want to miss the open bars, which will be tucked away throughout the lush landscape serving up the Promenade in the Pavilion signature cocktail, beer and wine.
There will be live entertainment all evening long, including jugglers, caricature artists, a jazz trio, and painted dancers posing as garden statues. Aside from the planned entertainment, you’ll also have the chance to socialize with some of Pittsburgh’s most stylish in one of the city’s most beautiful, historic buildings.
General admission tickets to Promenade in the Pavilion are $95, and VIP tickets are $175. Tickets and more information can be purchased online at the Cultural Trust website.
