WHERE TO HOST YOUR HOLIDAY PARTY IN PITTSBURGH

Hosting a holiday bash for your employees, an informal get-together with your coworkers or just a few drinks and merriment after work one evening? Whatever type of holiday party you’re throwing, there are a ton of great spots that make the perfect backdrop for a night of festive fun. Here are a few of our favorites.

Poulet Bleu. For an upscale, French-inspired evening focused on champagne and foie gras, Poulet Bleu is your spot. The intimate Lawrenceville eatery offers reservation options for private events, and we’re guessing that your group wouldn’t mind a night of decadent French food, fine wine and general Parisian revelry.

The upstairs bar at Poulet Bleu. If the restaurant itself is a bit too formal, the brand new French Polynesian-themed bar upstairs at Poulet Bleu might just be the perfect fit. We’re thinking fancy tiki drinks, shareable bites and lots of group photos in front of the gorgeous palm-covered wallpaper.

Arsenal Lanes. If your crew is the type that likes an activity to keep them occupied, bowling is always the way to go. Reserve a few lanes at Lawrenceville’s resident bowling alley and enjoy an evening of cheap beer, greasy bar food and loud, hilarious competition.

Lorelei. With a dining room large enough for your whole group, Lorelei is practically made for hosting holiday get-togethers. Beer lovers can enjoy the impressive German draft list, non-beer-drinkers will love the bar’s cocktail program, and everyone will agree that the giant Lorlei pretzels are some of the best in town.

Bob’s Garage. Looking for something wonderfully tacky and free of any fuss? Bob’s Garage will make your employees or co-workers feel like they’re in on one of the city’s best-kept secrets. This karaoke bar is best known for its absolute explosion of Christmas decorations all over the walls and ceiling, and since it’s located a bit outside the city in Blawnox, your group can really let loose and belt out their favorite karaoke songs entirely free of inhibitions.

Grist House. While you may think of this Millvale beer bar as a summertime hangout, it’s equally great in the winter — just add firepits. Come winter, Grist House’s indoor-outdoor hangouts feature numerous fires for you to cozy up around, plus their specialty beer releases and dog-friendly outdoor space. Grab some takeout pizza from Iron Born’s brand new Millvale location and have yourself a party!
