What is a must every fall/winter?
One of our favorite things to do is take a quick drive to the Laurel Highlands. There is so much to do, amazing history, and the scenery is out of a movie. It even attracted some key influencers this summer; NYC-based Jeff Staple and Japanese musician/icon, Hiroshi Fujiwara. Wanting to see rural PA from JAPAN–that is pretty cool. We recommend a lightweight Canada Goose jacket and a pair of Nike Sneakerboots or running shoes and get lost. We stock a wide assortment of premier Nike SW Tech, as well as high quality fleece from Reigning Champ of Vancouver. Stop in to see everything else up our sleeves.
What are you most excited about in the upcoming months?
We have a ton of things on deck for the next 12-18 months. We have a few projects and collaborations coming up with some of our industry’s leaders. We can’t speak of at the moment as they are still being finalized, but we will release info in the upcoming month(s). We’re excited to see the number of entrepreneurs using Pittsburgh as their playground. The energy in this city has never been more electric, or contagious. We’re happy to be a part of such an vibrant energy with an amazing group of young talent. We’ve been saying it for years, ‘Once we can get people to stay in western PA, it will flourish.’ The days of people fleeing to go to larger cities feels like it is nearing an end.
And after years of decline, it’s incredible to step back and take in all that is happening in Pittsburgh. Google’s expansion; CMU’s continued academic excellence and ties to the technology/startup community; Hollywood invading Pittsburgh; Wiz, Mac, Boaz, the entire Taylor Gang representing. Our Steel Town is filled with a strong, hard working population and core values which allows us to pay homage to the past, while remaining open to the renaissance happening before our eyes, creating a unique hybrid of then and now. We are all connected in this movement, together. #412built
What should Pittsburghers be wearing that they aren’t right now? Any styles you wish would go away?
Right now, fleece is it. This isn’t the kind that would get you in trouble with your mom for wearing sweatpants in public. The new generation of technical comfort does not look like you’ve been home for 72 hours watching reruns. Premium fits with premium materials. Styles we wish would go away? We’d prefer to stay positive, haha. You either get it, or you don’t. Just do you, everything else will come naturally.
